- The city was laid out in the years before the industrial revolution, and since the mid-1900s, the explosion in car ownership has swamped the traffic system.
- Our biggest road is so overcome with its burden that central lanes have to change direction at each rush hour. If you move the other direction, heaven help you.
- The outer ring road clogs every morning and evening, especially because no trees were ever planted to keep the sun from shining directly in motorists' faces at the busiest exchange, a 100-metre free-for-all where merging traffic competes with exiting traffic for the chance to smash each other to bits.
- All this in the home of the largest indoor basketball arena, where games are scheduled sometimes for immediately after rush hour, and you have a level of anarchy that only a rural city in America could create.

Oktoberfest Flight Night at Beerworks - Thursday, Sept. 20th at 5pm
Beerworks on Limestone is having an Oktoberfest flight night this Thursday. Get the taste of four different Oktoberfests from Spaten, Avery, Bells, and Moerlein.
For those of you who don’t know - Oktoberfest will start September 22nd in Munich and run till October 7th. Generally, Oktoberfest beers are Marzens (since they are brewed in March before the hotter weather rolls in) and similar in style to the Amber Lager. Refreshing, malty, and rich.

The NBA’s annual rookie photo shoot returned to Tarrytown, N.Y. this summer, headlined by five of Kentucky’s record-tying six picks in the 2012 Draft (from left: Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marquis Teague). Every year, the photo shoot gives fans a chance to see rookies in their new NBA jerseys for the first time, while also providing a few laughs (mostly unintentional) along the way.
